Manon DELWAS Born in 1960, she immerses herself in the magical atmosphere of her grandfather's studio, immersing herself in the colors and smell of painting. Always close to the art she will work at the Faculty of Visual Arts in Strasbourg where the creative atmosphere will win and will make him take painting classes. It is only later, by restoring an old house at the edge of the water that she will find the place to install her workshop and a framework favorable to the inspiration. It is also there that she will meet an artist who will introduce her to pottery. She invested more in the creation and made her first exhibition under her artist name at the Tourist Office of Saverne in 2000. The thread of her paintings is the light, it is fragile and subtle as the shadows foliage and reflections in the water. The presence of herds will make him appreciate the beauty of our bestiary, and inspired him a series of animals with colored horns. Paintings Achievements made with oil on canvas frame. Mixed Technical Collages: paper, photos, chalks, painting. The Ceramics It offers the possibility to realize a wide range of objects, and proposes a form of infinite expression. After modeling and shaping of the wet earth made manually; with a "leather" consistency, it is ready to be covered with engobes and oxides, before polishing with a roller for hours, over several days. Once the earth is dry, it is cooked more than 900 degrees in an electric oven, which is called a "biscuit". A second firing is necessary to smoken the room, before wrapping it with different dried vegetables and oxides to obtain surface effects. It involves covering the room in shavings and sawdust of different species, which gives more or less pronounced metallic reflections. The piece once cooled, washed, will be polished and lustrous, which will reveal all its nuances. It is a mysterious experience, because it can not be totally controlled.
