Welcoming the refugees, a call for action !

The staff Amicale is grateful towards the staff members who have responded and who have proposed  support or to be a local host.

On Thursday 10 September, the staff Amicale attended the meeting organized by the City of Strasbourg to which humanitarian organization and refugee support groups have been invited. The Mairie de Strasbourg coordinates the organization of hosting refugees and works on this project in conjunction with local associations and institutions.

The Mayor Roland Ries attended the meeting organized by the Ministry of Interior Bernard Cazeneuve, on Saturday 12 September, for the voluntary Mayors to host refugees. Strasbourg is expected to host between 300 and 500 refugees in the coming weeks and months.

On 15 September, the staff Amicale met with the Deputy Secretary General who welcomed this initiative and who has assured the staff Amicale of her support. A number of actions are being considered and will be presented on Friday by the President of Staff Amicale during the Back to work party.

The Staff Amicale action falls within the framework of more general actions coordinated by the city of Strasbourg and organized by the humanitarian associations who work on receiving refugees for many years to come.
