To mark the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty and the 70th anniversary of the European Parliament, the Strasbourg Philharmonic Choir and the Orchesterverein Stuttgart are breaking down borders. The artists will perform Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with its famous Ode to Joy. A quartet of European soloists will complete the musical line-up.
The concert will open with Peteris Vasks' Dona Nobis Pacem - a work of intense and profound stillness.
Two ways of conveying the same message: a call for fraternal harmony, with a particular resonance in the troubled international context we are experiencing.
The coming together of these two ensembles is the result of the collaboration of their conductors: Alexander Adiarte and Catherine Bolzinger who will share the baton for these two exceptional concerts:
- Friday 14 April at 8 pm, église Saint-Paul, Strasbourg
- Saturday 15 April at 7 pm, Liederhalle, Stuttgart
- Online ticketing
