Meeting with Cristina COMENCINI, director and writer

Meeting with Cristina COMENCINI, director and writer

Calendar from 06/04/2022 to 06/04/2022

Cristina Comencini, writer and director, will be a special guest of the Istituto on Wednesday 6 April at 6 pm at the Strasbourg-Europe Press Club for a meeting about her novel "Quatre amours", which is in the running for the 2022 European Love Prize, and her latest book "L'autre femme", which is due to be published in France at the beginning of April by Stock.

Cristina Comencini will speak - in French - with Kareen De Martin Pinter, author and Italian language teacher at the Italian Cultural Institute in Strasbourg.

Cristina Comencini will talk about her novels, her writing process and will answer questions from the audience. A signing session is planned after this interview.

A few words about the author:
Director, screenwriter and writer, Cristina Comencini was born in 1956 in Rome, where she attended the French high school. She made her debut in 1988 with her father Luigi Comencini as co-writer of the Franco-Italian film "Joyeux Noël, bonne année" before directing her own films. Since then, she has worked on some 15 films. The Beast in the Heart, adapted from one of her novels, was nominated for an Oscar in the category of "Best Foreign Language Film" in 2006. She published her first novel in 1991, Les pages arrachées (Éditions Verdier), which marked the beginning of her literary career. Her French-language book, Quatre amours, received critical acclaim and the Marco Polo Venice 2020 award. The Other Woman is her tenth novel to be published in France.

Organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Strasbourg in partnership with the Librairie Kléber and the Strasbourg-Europe Press Club.

Wednesday 6 April 2022 at 6pm.
