A celebration of one of the 20th century’s great European writers – Bertolt Brecht was tendentious, funny and even frightening. A multilingual evening (English, French and German) in an atmosphere inspired by the cabaret culture of 1930s Berlin. We present songs, poems and two short plays that carry us from the times of British colonialism to the dark era of Nazi Germany; and, although the problems we face today are different from those of Brecht, we can be reminded of how chaos can emerge quickly and devastatingly.
