Debate on women in the film industry

Debate on women in the film industry

Calendar the 19/11/2018

As part of the World Forum for Democracy, MESA and the council of Europe organise a debate on the unequal treatment woman face within the film industry in Europe, whether on screen or behind the camera.

The debate will take place on 19 November at 5 pm at the Cité de la Musique et de la Danse de Strasbourg - orchestra room 


With the participation of:

Jackie Buet, director of the Créteil International Women's Film Festival

Vérnonique Le Bris, editor-in-chief of, creator of the Alice Guy Prize and author of 50 femmes de cinéma (2017)

Béatrice Thiriet, composer

Enrico Vannucci, executive director deputy, Eurimages, Council of Europe


The debate will be led by:

Denis Huber, president of the Amicale

Natacha Ficarelli, president of the Maison de l'Europe Strasbourg-Alsace (MESA)

Francine Raveney, previous director now in charge of pulic relations at European Women's Audiovisual Network
