Culture Library



The staff library lends out English and French books free to ‘Amicale’ members. Our collection, which has expanded gradually over the fifty years since the library's foundation, is made up  mostly of novels and crime fiction, along with a non-fiction section covering areas such as history, travel and biography.

We try to offer the latest best sellers but also make available lesser-known, mostly- European authors.

You are most welcome to come and browse during our opening times or to consult the catalogues.


The Amicale Library has a new website that provides online access to the entire catalog with new features that allow you to:

  • Discover the latest of the month
  • Consult the catalog of books - available in French and English
  • Create your own personal account
  • Borrow books
  • Assign notes and comments to books
  • Receive the newsletter and stay informed.

Access conditions

To have paid the annual subscription to the Council of Europe Amicale
Free of charge (Amicale membership entitles holders to participate at no extra cost)


There is no charge for book loans.



Opening hours: Every day (except Wednesday) from 12.15-13.00

The library is situated at level -1 in the main building, downstairs from the main hall (take the stairs opposite the newsagent).
