To mark the launch of the Icelandic Presidency of the Committee of Ministers (November 2022 – May 2023), the Permanent Representation of Iceland invites staff to attend a concert of the Umbra Ensemble on Wednesday 9 November 2022 at 8 pm in Eglise Saint-Guillaume, 1 rue Munch in Strasbourg.

The ensemble’s repertoire features sacred and secular medieval tunes from Iceland and continental Europe, as well as traditional songs. Umbra have been critically acclaimed as one of the most interesting ensembles in Iceland, particularly for their outstanding arrangements of early and traditional music.

Umbra’s lyricism will take you on a journey through ancient Icelandic folklore where tales and legends are shaped by the elements.
