Meeting with Franz-Olivier Giesbert and Alexandre Orlov

Calendar from 22/01/2022 to 22/01/2022

Meeting with Franz-Olivier Giesbert and Alexandre Orlov on 22 January 2022 at 1pm.

Two attentive and exceptional observers of the life of the country and of Europe exchange views on the set of the Bibliothèques Idéales.

History is inviting itself into the presidential campaign, and several candidates are referring to it, each in their own way.
In the first volume of the history of the Fifth Republic, Franz-Olivier Giesbert recounts the astonishing recovery of the country by General de Gaulle, until the fall of the great man, after eleven years in power.

Alexander Orlov is such a French Russian.
The diplomat has been building bridges between Paris and Moscow for decades. In an autobiographical book, "Un ambassadeur à Paris" (Fayard), where tasty anecdotes follow one another, he reveals some little-known aspects of his life, straddling two cultures.

Meeting with Franz-Olivier Giesbert, Le Sursaut (Gallimard), and Alexandre Orlov, Un ambassadeur à Paris (Fayard), hosted by Denis Huber and Sciences Po Forum.
In partnership with the Amicale du Conseil de l'Europe and Sciences Po Forum.
