Latest news from Europe Day
Dear friends of Lieu d'Europe,
We have entered the last two weeks of the Festival of Europe! Between health precautions and bad weather, our programme has suffered some setbacks. Here you will find all the information about the next events.
EUROPOLAR: SATURDAY 22 MAY - POSTPONEMENT
Due to the rain, the Europolar festival has been postponed until the summer. The date is still in doubt and we will let you know as soon as it is known.
DISCUSSION-PREVIEW: TUESDAY 25 MAY at 18:00
25 May 2021 will mark the third anniversary of the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To discuss the concrete contributions of the GDPR, Lieu d'Europe invites you to the screening of the documentary Democracy (David Bernet, 2016 - Indifilm, Atmosfilm, Submarine). Followed by a debate with the Data Protection Officer of the Eurometropole, the film presents the struggle of parliamentarians Philipp Albrecht and Viviane Reding for this regulation in the style of a political thriller, in the presence of Sélim-Alexandre Arrad, Data Protection Officer of the Eurometropole, and Marie Ackermann, lawyer in digital law.
