Today’s exercise is a great way to strengthen your lower body. It has been prepared by Nancy Nuttall-Bodin and is called "jump squats". Let's go!
Standing with your feet shoulder width apart (you can hold an object to make this harder – a water bottle or weights).
You are going to lower yourself into a squat position, like you are about to sit on an invisible chair. Hold the down position.
You will then gently press your heels into the floor and do little pulses in the sitting position, not coming up. Gently do three and on 4 you do a gentle jump, “up down” and return to the squat position, so the 4th count is actually broken in 2 – one two three up down.
The “up’ is not a violent jump, but you will simply shift the weight of your body up off the floor, you do not have to go high.
Repeat this exercise - 15 mns a day. This is great for keeping in shape during the confinement.
