A trip to Dante's 'Purgatory'

Calendar from 20/01/2020 to 17/03/2020

In homage to one of the emblematic works of Italian and even universal literature, The Divine Comedy, and as a preview of the celebrations for the 7th centenary of the death of its author, the great poet, thinker and politician Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), the Italian Cultural Institute, after the 2019 Cycle dedicated to Dante's Inferno, invites the public in 2020 to a second cycle of six recitative readings of the songs of Purgatory.

The Istituto offers the public a journey through six readings in Italian and French of the songs of Purgatory, to discover or rediscover one of the major works of universal literature, to savour the beauty and richness of the Italian language and medieval symbolism. Purgatory is the second of the three reigns that make up the work.

The cycle will take place in the premises of the Institute and includes 6 monthly meetings from January to June.
