AIACE (International Association of Council of Europe Alumni), in partnership with the Staff Committee, the Staff Association and the International Association of Former Officials of the European Union, has chosen to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our Organisation by planting a European-style oak tree on the lawn in front of the Palais de l'Europe.

Through this action, AIACE wishes to symbolise its confidence in the tenacious strength shown by the Council of Europe, for decades, in its fight to promote European unity and peace by defending human rights and democracy.

The ceremony will take place on Friday 4 October 2019 at 1 p.m., at the end of the Parliamentary Assembly session, in the presence of Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni.

All active and retired staff members and members of delegations are warmly invited to join this event, which will be followed by a wine of honour in the entrance hall of the Palais de l'Europe.
