Bertolt Brecht’s short play “In Search of Justice” performed by Tagora (Thursday 28 March, 1 pm)

Calendar the 28/03/2019

Here is an invitation on behalf of the Court’s Theatre Club to see Bertolt Brecht’s short play In Search of Justice performed by Tagora theatre, directed by David Adamson, on Thursday, 28 March in Small drum of the Palais des Droits de l’Homme during lunch break starting at 1 pm. Play is in English and lasts about 45 – 50 minutes.

A few lines from director about the event:

What justice if a judge cannot decide according to their knowledge and conscience?

How does a judge in Nazi Germany decide a case opposing a Jewish shopkeeper and stormtroopers? The judge gets advice from a police inspector, a prosecutor and a fellow-judge. The judge rightly fears the consequences the decision might have for their future career. These questions are the outline of Bertolt Brecht’s short play In Search of Justice, written as Hitler was consolidating his power in 1933.

Come along to see - and reflect.
