The Christmas Charity Market for Ukraine, held around the Hemicycle on 11 December 2025, once again demonstrated the power of solidarity, culture, and collective generosity. This year, 27 countries and the European Union joined forces to share their traditions and support a common cause: helping children affected by the war in Ukraine.
Thanks to the remarkable commitment of all participants, more than €18,000 were raised and transferred to the “Hippocrates” Regional Centre for Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care for Children in Kharkiv, providing vital support to children in need.
The market was enriched by a vibrant cultural programme featuring the Ukrainian Christmas Vertep performed by students from Metz University, the Greek-Cypriot choir, the Ukrainian dance group Tournossol, Moldovan carol singers, Ukrainian performers, and the Council of Europe choir. A special highlight was the arrival of Saint Nicholas, bringing joy to tombola winners and visitors alike.
Warm thanks go to all national table coordinators for their months of preparation, to the artists for sharing their talent, and to the Events team and Amicale for their indispensable organisational support. Their collective efforts transformed this market into more than a festive gathering — into a true expression of unity and hope.
This Charity Market once again proved that when people come together across cultures and borders, generosity becomes tangible and makes a real difference.
