To mark the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s accession to the Council of Europe, Support Action Ukraine (SAU) and the Permanent Representation of Ukraine invite you on a musical journey between Ukraine and France.
Through works by Ukrainian and French composers, this concert affirms that beyond fragility and vulnerability lie strength and invincibility - symbols of the Ukrainian people in their struggle for freedom and a European future.
On stage, two exceptional musicians give voice to this dialogue:
Bohdana Pivnenko (violin) - one of the great ambassadors of Ukrainian music on the major European and American stages.
Anna Khmara (piano) - prize-winner (Pierre Lantier Competition, Chopin Competition in Rome), professor of chamber music at the Paris Conservatoire.
Programme
The programme brings together the finest works of modern Ukrainian academic music, offering a broad panorama of contemporary Ukrainian instrumental art. Myroslav Skoryk, Valentyn Silvestrov, Yevhen Stankovych, Borys Lyatoshynsky - names inscribed in the treasure trove of world music. The rediscoveries of Reinhold Glière and Yuliy Meitus converse with the refined grace of Saint-Saëns, illuminating the deep links between our cultures.
