On September 14, the cultural center Saint-Thomas in Strasbourg came alive with music, dance, and the warm spirit of solidarity as the association PromoUkraїna hosted its annual Ukrainian charity fair. The event drew large crowds eager to experience the richness of Ukrainian culture while contributing to a cause that directly supports people affected by the war.
The concert program opened with children from the Ukrainian school in Strasbourg, who set a heartfelt tone for the day. The audience was then moved by a powerful performance from Ukrainian singer Anna T, followed by a unique trio of bandura players and a guitarist from Belfort. The stage further lit up with the vibrant dances of the ensemble TourEnSol.
Adding to the festive spirit, an interactive segment led by professional dancer and Ukrainian refugee Yevhen Symyklit brought together artists, participants, and visitors in a joyful collective performance. The concert part of the fair was brought to a close by an energetic DJ set that kept
the atmosphere alive until the end.
As is tradition, guests of the fair also had the opportunity to enjoy delicious homemade Ukrainian
dishes, from savory specialties to sweet treats. In addition, newly designed souvenirs and beautiful handmade crafts were available, giving visitors the chance to take home a piece of Ukrainian culture while supporting the cause.
Meanwhile, outside the stage program, the Plast scouts of Strasbourg organised their own gathering for children, creating a lively and engaging space for the younger generation.
Beyond the celebration of music, dance, and community, the fair carried a profound purpose. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, donors, and volunteers, more than €2,000 was raised during the event—funds that will be used to purchase an evacuation vehicle for Ukraine.
PromoUkraina extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Amicale of the Council of Europe, to all performers, volunteers, and guests whose contributions made the fair such a success. The day was not only a celebration of Ukrainian culture but also a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when communities stand together in solidarity.
With such enthusiasm and unity on display, PromoUkraїna looks forward to creating more opportunities for Strasbourg to stand with Ukraine in the months ahead.
