The Council of Europe is taking part in the 16th edition of "Au boulot à vélo !" (ABAV), a bike challenge, organised by the Eurométropole de Strasbourg and the CADR67 association with the aim to encourage environmentally-friendly modes of transport in a fun way by accumulating as many trip and kilometres as possible.
How does it work?
ABAV runs from 1st to 30 June 2025 and is open for all interested staff members of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and all Field Offices.
To join, create your personal account under the Council of Europe banner by clicking here Register for the challenge
Throughout the month of June, enter the kilometres of your home-work commute and/or your work-related journeys by bike on the challenge website or in the Au boulot à vélo® app (available on iOS/Android, for participants with a French mobile phone number only).
Teleworking? No problem!
If you’re teleworking, you can still record the distance cycled during the day up to your usual commute to and from work maximum. Please note that this option only exists in the app.

Team up and stay safe on and with your bike
Biking buddies: If you are tempted by the challenge but reluctant to take to the cycle paths on your own or on the contrary familiar with Strasbourg's network of cycle paths and ready to co-cycle with a less experienced colleague, we’re pairing biking buddies. Contact us (charlotte.lenoir@edqm.eu; guillaume.loiseau@coe.int) with your departure and arrival points, and we'll put you in touch.
Keep your bike safe: To make sure, your bike is protected, please use the bike parking available around the various Council of Europe buildings. We also invite you to read the news recently published on the increase in bicycle thefts.
In June 2024, our peloton of 213 cyclists covered a total of 2,6403.86 km. How far will we go this year?
So get on your bikes and enjoy the challenge!!
