The energy transition is currently at the crossroads of several crucial issues for the European Union: the revival of industrial competitiveness, the fight against global warming and pollution, and the quest for autonomy and security in an increasingly unstable international context.
What are the major projects and innovative solutions being promoted in Strasbourg, at both European and local level, to meet this triple economic, ecological and strategic challenge?
We'll be discussing these issues with three Members of the European Parliament:
- Christophe Grudler, MEP from Belfort, is a member of the Renew Europe group and the Mouvement Démocrate. He is coordinator for the Renew Europe group on the Industry, Research and Energy Committee.
- Letizia Moratti, Italian MEP, member of the European People's Party group and the Forza Italia party. She was Mayor of Milan from 2006 to 2011 and Italian Minister of Education, University and Research from 2001 to 2006. Elected to the European Parliament in 2024, she is also a member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee.
- Thomas Pellerin - Carlin: French MEP, member of the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group and Place Publique. A researcher specializing in European energy and climate policy, he led the work of the Jacques Delors Institute's Energy Centre. Elected to the European Parliament in 2024, he is also a member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee.
and with :
- Marc Hoffsess, Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg, in charge of the ecological transformation of the territory, in particular energies, energy renovation of public and private buildings, monitoring of the climate plan, and support for the ecological transition of businesses.
The conference will be followed by a cocktail reception.
