Colleagues are warmly invited to participate in a fundraiser in support of the children of Pirita. Over two days, we’ll be selling a range of handcrafted knitted and crocheted items—lovingly made by members of the CoE Amicale Knitting & Crocheting Club—including scarves, hats, dolls, Christmas decorations, baby clothes, and more, as well as a selection of sweet and savoury pastries.
Date: 21 & 22 November, 09h30 – 17h00
Location: Agora entrance hall & Palais near the cafeteria and restaurant area on both days
About Pirita and Its Children
The children of Pirita live in conditions of extreme poverty in an informal settlement in Baia Mare, Romania. With no access to electricity or basic infrastructure, these children and their families endure harsh conditions in makeshift huts. Since 2016, the Pirita Children Association has supported these children, helping them to enrol in kindergarten and school, providing clothing, school supplies, food, and after-school support with the aid of donations and dedicated volunteers.
In a nearby container module run by the association, children are provided with a daily meal, the opportunity to shower, and a safe place to change clothes. They also receive the essential resources needed to attend school with dignity and engage in after-school learning with volunteers and teachers gathering in a space set-up in a school nearby.
If you would prefer to donate directly, you may transfer your contribution to the Pirita Association’s bank account in Romania. Please inform us of your transfer and share your email address so we can update you on the impact of your contribution.
Thank you for supporting this cause!
