Dear colleagues and friends!

Ukrainian section of Amicale and the Permanent Representation of Ukraine in the CoE cordially invite you to the opening of an exhibition dedicated to Ukrainian Vyshyvanka (traditional embroidered shirts) and Ukrainian works of art and household items adorned with embroidery.

As part of this celebration, a special "Vyshyvanka Parade" will be held on the stairs of the CM Foyer of the Council of Europe during the 47th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities on 16 October, from 12:45 to 13:30.

The official inauguration, featuring the participation of Mr. Marc Cools, President of the Congress, will take place near the hemicycle.

Date: 16 October 2024
Time: 12:45–13:30
Location: near the hemicycle, stairs of the CM Foyer, Council of Europe

We are also pleased to announce a permanent embroidery exhibition from 15 to 17 October 2024. This exhibition will be set up near the window, to the right of the staircase of the CM Foyer.

The event will be hosted by the renowned Ukrainian embroiderer Maria Zalizniak, creator of the project "Renewed, United, Integral, Sovereign, and Invincible Ukraine" of the association PromoUkraina. The project aims to introduce European nations to the rich traditions of Ukrainian culture and embroidery. Authentic Ukrainian clothing, household items, towels, and tablecloths from the private collection of ethnographer and collector Yurii Melnychuk will also be featured.

We look forward to your presence at this special celebration of Ukrainian heritage and culture.
