Calendar from 09/10/2024 to 09/11/2024

The European Parliamentary Association and the European Movement - Alsace are pleased to invite you to a debate entitled ‘Relaunching competitiveness in Europe: what challenges? what solutions? This event will take place on Wednesday 9 October, from 8pm to 9.15pm, at the Villa Schutzenberger, 76 allée de la Robertsau, Strasbourg.

At a time when boosting the competitiveness of the European economy is emerging as the main priority of the new European Commission, and following the presentation of Mario Draghi's long-awaited report, we will have the opportunity to discuss this subject with you:

Christophe Grudler: MEP from Belfort, member of the Renew Europe group and the Mouvement Démocrate. He was elected to the European Parliament in 2019 and re-elected in June 2024. He is coordinator for the Renew Europe group on the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.

Bruno Tobback: Belgian MEP, member of the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group and the Vooruit, the Flemish socialist party. He was Belgian Minister for the Environment and Pensions from 2004 to 2007. Elected to the European Parliament in June, he is also a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.

Thomas Pellerin - Carlin: French MEP, member of the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group and Place Publique. A researcher specialising in European energy and climate policy, he led the work of the Jacques Delors Institute's Energy Centre. Elected to the European Parliament in June, he is also a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.

Frédérique Berrod: Professor of European Union law at the University of Strasbourg. She specialises in a number of areas, including EU institutional law, internal market law, competition law, border law, energy law, health product law, digital internal market law, and data law in Europe. She is also a visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges, where she teaches internal market law.

The conference will be followed by a cocktail reception. To take part in this event, please confirm your attendance by clicking on this link and filling in this form: https://forms.gle/4kbEgnfFqrVbWo3f6
