‘Au boulot à vélo’ section of the Amicale is pleased to inform you that the Council of Europe is taking part this year in the 15th edition of the ‘Au boulot à vélo’ challenge, organised by the Eurométropole and the CADR67 association. The aim of the challenge is to encourage environmentally-friendly modes of transport in a fun way.
The ABAV challenge runs from 1 to 30 June 2024, with the aim of cumulating journeys and kilometres with the possibility to earn bonus kilometres (beacon hunt, group photo, video).
Some practical information
How does it work?
1 Create your personal account under the Council of Europe banner by clicking here: Register for the challenge
2. Enter the kilometres travelled on your home-to-work commute and/or your work-related journeys by bike on the challenge website or, for participants with a French telephone, using the Au boulot à vélo® mobile application available on iOS/Android.
Who can take part?
All interested staff of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and in all Field Offices.
Teleworking? No problem!
Participants teleworking during the month of June will be able to take part in the challenge. They have to declare the kilometres cycled during the day as part of a cycle outing.
However, to be valid, two conditions must be met:
The number of kilometres recorded per day must not exceed the distance to and from work and must only be recorded via the smartphone application.
Parking
Use all the parking places available around the Council of Europe buildings, including along the Parc de l'Orangerie and the Avenue de l'Europe.
Safety
Because safe cycling is essential, we're sharing with you the rules and recommendations applicable in France:

Problems with your bike?
To get your bike ready for the challenge, the organisers have foreseen self-repair workshops on Thursday 30 May between 17:30 and 19:30 to check the condition of your bikes and sort out any minor technical problems. Full details of these workshops can be found here (only in French).
