Tagora, the English-speaking theatre group of the Council of Europe, is looking for actors for a short play that will be performed at L'Espace K during the Théâtralis festival on October 27th, and a second time at the Cube Noir around November 11th. Théâtralis is Strasbourg's biggest amateur theatre festival, and many actors and theatre company members will be in the audience.
The play lasts for 10 minutes and tells the story of Orpheus, whose wife Eurydice dies on the day of their wedding. He then goes to the Underworld to beg the Queen of Hell to free her from death.
This play has one speaking part and six non-speaking parts. There are still four parts to fill, which are described below. If you have always wished to try acting, but are not sure about speaking on stage, this play is for you. This casting is open to everyone, even if you have never acted before.
The parts are as follows:
- Orpheus: Man, 20-30 year old. the rock star of his day. A perfect singer and a passionate lover. Non-speaking part, ability to sing is a bonus but not compulsory.
- Eurydice: Woman, 20-30 year old. A woman so lovely that her husband would go to hell to save her. Non-speaking part
- Three admirers/wedding guests/spirits: Women and men, 20-99 year old. From supportive to scary, your job is to embody the mood of each scene. If you are versatile, those parts are for you. Non-speaking parts
