The European Parliamentary Association and the young Europeans of Strasbourg are pleased to invite you to a conference entitled “One year until the European elections, which priorities for the European Parliament?”. This event will take place on Wednesday the 10th of May, from 8 pm to 9 15 p.m, iat the Headquarters of the European Parliamentary Association (76 allée de la Robertsau, Strasbourg).

The conference will be conducted in French and will be followed by a cocktail reception.

In twelve months, in May 2024, the current term of the European Parliament will come to an end and elections for its renewal will take place. What are the main legislative issues that have yet to be adopted by Parliament by May 2024? What are the main political compromises in this area? And what can we expect in the coming months, with the start of the European election campaign?

We are pleased to have the participation of:

Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield, French MEP, member of the Green Group/European Free Alliance. She sits on the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, the Commission of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent spyware surveillance, and in the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly;

José Manuel Fernandes, Portuguese MEP, member of the Group of the European People’s Party. It sits in the Committee on Budgets, the Committee on Budgetary Control, the Delegation for relations with Mercosur, the Delegation to the European Parliamentary AssemblyPresident of the Delegation for Relations with the Federative Republic of Brazil;

Valérie Hayer, French MEP and member of the Renew Europe Group. She sits on the Committee on Budgets and the Delegation for Relations with South-East Asian Countries and the Association of South-East Asian Nations. She is Co-President of Europe Ensemble, the Delegation of Members of the European Parliament of the Presidential Majority within the group «Renew Europe» and President of the Association for a European Renaissance

This debate is organized in cooperation with the Young Europeans - Strasbourg, who will lead three discussion workshops, respectively on citizens' attitudes towards Europe, the European Green Pact and the European Pact on Migration and Asylum.

During these workshops, you will have the opportunity to delve into one of these topics and prepare for the debate with the Members of the European Parliament that will follow. The workshops will start at 19:30.
