Amicale

The Corsham Windband Association is a band of young (and not so young) musicians from the South West of England, from the small town of Corsham near Bath. There is a long history of friendship between these musicians and the Orchestre d'Harmonie of Schiltigheim (which invited them to Strasbourg) as this English band has come to Strasbourg regularly over the last 25 years. This is no coincidence, for one of the musicians of the Schiltigheim orchestra is a native of Corsham... and he is also a staff member of the Council of Europe (Peter FELTHAM).

The Corsham Windband Association, accompanied by the Choir of the Amicale of the Council of Europe, will give a concert in the Hemicycle Lobby in the Palais de l’Europe on Thursday 16 February 2023 at 12.30. As it will be Saint Valentine's week, the orchestra will perform songs on the theme of love, such as "Beauty and the Beast", "The Snow Queen", "Titanic", "West Side Story" and some Beatles songs.

In solidarity with the victims of the earthquakes in Türkiye, the Amicale and the Corsham Windband Association have decided to dedicate this concert to them. A collection has been organised to this aim, and there will be some delicacies from the turkish cuisine  the Chorale of the Council of Europe will also join this event. 

A collection will be organised to this aim as well as a sale of Turkish delicacies.

The Corsham Windband Association will also give a concert accompanied by the Orchestre d'Harmonie of Schiltigheim at the Salle des Fêtes in Reichstett on Tuesday 14 February 2023 at 8pm and at the Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux Catholic Church in Strasbourg on Wednesday 15 February 2023 at 8 pm.
