On this Tuesday 15 March, 4th day of the "Printemps des Poètes", we share a poem composed by Mailys Veriter, member of the Amicale.
SWAN SONG, LOVE HYMN
When nothing makes sense anymore
When my gestures only serve to defend myself
Your eyes only judge me, armed
Without mercy, they will shoot!
Your ardour carried to another battlefield
I see now all your lies, your flaws.
Hidden in my memories
In the pictures you only had smiles for me.
My body was then the seat of your passion
Giving in to a sweet surrender.
But love, like war, only lasts for a time
Of which only hymns remain, the most beautiful songs.
