RENCONTRE-DEBAT with Gilles Boyer, MEP, co-author of the book "Impressions et lignes claires", Wednesday 12 May, from 6 to 6.30 pm, on Zoom

Calendar from 12/05/2021 to 12/05/2021

Dear friends of the European Parliamentary Association,

We are pleased to invite you to a meeting-debate with Gilles Boyer, MEP, who will present his new book "Impressions et lignes claires" (JC Lattès), co-written with former French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe. The event will take place on Wednesday 12 May, from 6 to 6.30pm, on Zoom.

To participate, simply click on the link below on the day of the event: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84571636374

From 15 May 2017 to 3 July 2020, Édouard Philippe was the French Prime Minister and Gilles Boyer his advisor before being elected Member of the European Parliament. In their book, they offer us an account of their years at Matignon, but also a reflection on power, a history lesson and an insight into the acts, places and dynamics of French politics. From 2002, each at the side of Alain Juppé until 2017, Philippe and Boyer shared all the battles and lived together these 1145 days at Matignon. What remains are images, moments, places, meetings, difficult decisions, violent and unforeseen crises: in short, impressions that can, at times, suggest some clear lines.

The difficult effort of a political recomposition, the stakes linked to the communication of those who govern, the double challenge posed by the climate and fiscal policy and, of course, the health crisis: the subjects treated in "Impressions and clear lines" are multiple. We will have the opportunity to discuss all of these issues with Gilles Boyer, a witness to and actor in the French government's actions over the past few years.

We hope to see you at this meeting.
