Australian bushfires - collecting donations

Australian bushfires - collecting donations

Calendar from 27/01/2020 to 10/02/2020

Over ten million hectares of bush and forest have burned in Australia to date. At least twenty-nine people have died, over one billion animals have lost their lives and precious natural spaces have been destroyed or seriously damaged. The fires have not yet been put out, but there will be a tomorrow, and a huge task ahead to revegetate the burned areas.

The Amicale’s Green Section would therefore like to invite staff members, judges of the Court and members of permanent representations to give their support to an NGO that works in South Australia, one of the Australian States that has been badly affected by the bushfires, to restore natural habitats: Trees for Life (link: https://treesforlife.org.au/about-us).

You can contribute by making a bank transfer to the Amicale’s bank account (bank account identification details here), specifying “Australia” in the reference line (objet). Or you can send a cheque, made out to “Amicale CoE” and with the words “compte solidarité Australie” written on the back, through the internal mail to Claudia Montevecchi (EYC; office 1-06).

Keep a look out also for our collection tables in the Palais, PDH and Agora in the week of 3 February.

The collection will remain open until 10 February 2020.
