EXCEPTIONNAL MEETINGS WITH THE JOURNALIST AND AUTHOR ALBERTO TOSCANO

EXCEPTIONNAL MEETINGS WITH THE JOURNALIST AND AUTHOR ALBERTO TOSCANO

Calendar from 08/11/2019 to 29/11/2019

MESA, in partnership with the University of Strasbourg, invites you to two exceptional meetings with Alberto Toscano, journalist and Italian author on Friday 29 November 2019.

Alberto Toscano will present his book Ti amo Francia, recently published by Armand Colin at the Librarian of the boatmen (5 rue Modeste Schickelé) from 17:30.

This book tells us about Italians who helped to "make" France. Men and women who came as migrants and became protagonists of successful integration. Those who played an important role in all areas of French society - from music to economics, from journalism to cinema, from architecture to politics .

This session will be followed by the screening of Les opportunistes (Il Capitale umano, 2014), directed by Paolo Virzi, at 8 pm at the Odyssée cinema (3 rue des Francs-Bourgeois).

Cast: Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Valeria Golino.

Synopsis: Near Lake Como in Italy, families of the wealthy Carla Bernaschi and Dino Ossola, real estate agent on the brink of bankruptcy, are linked by the same obsession: money. An accident on Christmas Eve will brutally change their destinies.

Alberto Toscano is the guest of the debate that will follow the screening.

These two sequences will be moderated by Natacha Ficarelli (President of MESA) and Francesco D'Antonio (Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Languages).

The book "Ti amo Francia" will be sold by the Librairie des Bateliers during the two events at the Libeliers bookstore and the Odyssée cinema.

Possibility of dedication.

Hoping to see you there,

The team of MESA.
