The Council of Europe Amicale was delighted to take part int the series of events called Où sont les femmes? 1918-2018 Un siècle d’émancipation féminine in partnership with European Cultural Partners in the context of International Women’s Day 2018.
On 16 March, we welcomed Fabrice Virgili and Anne-Laure Briatte who talked about their book « L’Europe des femmes » a collection of more than 70 founding texts of feminism from 18th century to today. On this occasion, we mounted the exhibition Bertha Von Suttner – une vie pour la paix. You can find the entire exhibition in the attach file.
On 23 March the Restaurant of the Council of Europe hosted A woman’s world, a concert given by the Amicale's “12 stars band”, the Amicale's Choir and the Russian Choir and also the Austrian Choir (especially formed for the occasion) - a celebration women in music. This evening was the extension of the concert made last month in the Kleber library. All the pictures of the two concerts are available at the following link.
Finally, the Amicale co-organised with Panorama Plus an evening of encounters with inspirational women of Europe. On this occasion, we received Catherine Trautmann the former mayor of Strasbourg, former minister and Member of the European Parliament; Anne Brasseur former president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe; Erika Bernhard Consul-General of Austria in Strasbourg and Brigitte Klinkert president of the Departement of Haut-Rhin. This informal evening allowed us to become acquainted with four women who are contributing to building today's Europe. The pictures of the evening are available at the following link.
