For the fourth consecutive year, the Council of Europe choir went to London to sing “major settings” with The Really Big Chorus. Indeed, on 9 July, eleven choristers from the Council of Europe joined approx. 1000 other choristers including singers from UNESCO and our former President of the Music Section, Emmanuel Lhéritier.
Under the direction of the Principal Conductor, Brian Kay, we had the pleasure of interpreting the Glorias by Vivaldi, John Rutter and Karl Jenkins.
The orchestra was, as always, the English Festival Orchestra, led by Alison Kelly.
We were prepared for the Gloria by Vivaldi; and we took the challenge over to sing Rutter’s and Jenkins’ Glorias too. Thanks to Brian Kay’s patience, passion and great skills, he managed to give every singer the opportunity and confidence to perform to their full potential giving a wonderful concert!
The National Autistic Society benefited to the tune of over £3,500 from this event.
