ESU Strasbourg is organising a debate on the US Presidential election at 18h00 on Wednesday 26 OCTOBER 2016. The campaign so far has been one of the nastiest on record and is debasing American politics. The result of the election will have a direct effect not only on the United States but also on Europe and beyond.
The panelists for this event at the Strasbourg Press Club (10 Place Kléber, 2nd floor) will include:
- Panos Kakaviatos from Washington DC, a journalist now working in communications and a well-known wine critic;
- Veronica de Leon a US citizen currently working in Strasbourg;
- William MacArthur-Norton, a retired naval officer from Washington DC who has worked as a journalist and in publishing.
- Kristine Morrill who worked as a journalist in Minnesota and Delaware before founding a medical communications agency.
The Round Table will be an opportunity to analyse and debate the presidential candidates’ views on issues such as foreign policy including defense, economic policy including trade deals, immigration, refugees, climate change etc.
These are just some of the topics which may be discussed but you will certainly have your own views or questions. So join us on Wednesday 26th October and bring friends with you because this is an important topic for us all!
