For the 3rd consecutive year, the Council of Europe’s Choir joined the Really Big Chorus, bringing together many choirs, mainly British, for a grand concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on the evening of 10 July, with a programme including Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, under the direction of Bob Chilcott. This concert, which brought together 1300 singers (including 13 members of the Council of Europe’s choir), three soloists and a symphony orchestra, was given in aid of The National Autistic Society.
The Really Big Chorus has also asked the Choir to participate in one of the remembrance day events being organised to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center. The concert will take place on the evening of 11 September 2016, at St. Bart's Church in New York, with a programme including the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. This concert, involving 6 members of the Council of Europe’s Choir, is also a charitable event.
By participating in this type of event, the Choir of the Council of Europe contributes in its own way to the visibility of the Organisation.
