Angel Almendrales painter, engraver, sculptor, comes from El Banco Magdalena, a fishing village and from a family with many deficiencies where being an artist was not an option to survive and studying was not a priority. He is considered one of the best plastic artists in the Caribbean Region and Angel obtained the ‘Life and Work’ award from the Secretary of Culture and the Arts -Fodca- of Santa Marta.

Colombian artist known for her focus on social issues and her ability to capture the daily life of Colombian peasants in her works. Her style includes human figures, ruanas, hats and landscapes and has often been classified as naive art. Melgarejo uses painting to communicate and reflect on her social and cultural environment.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, he studied sculpture at the School of Arts in Bogotá and Pedagogy at the National Pedagogical University in Bogotá. He has participated in workshops and symposiums in Cuba and Germany. He teaches sculpture and workshops at the Higher Academy of Arts in Bogotá. He is also a photographer and videographer.
