The beauty of nature-ROOTS

Natural materials, in their original form, have always impressed me. These shapes combine with my imagination, the hands start to transform and the results are fascinating. The images and ideas that visit me in my dreams are then found in various parts of my sculptures. Nature provides me with the most interesting forms, in the most special places: on the mountain, on the ocean shore, on the river banks. The raw, natural form then causes the birth of the idea, the vision. The first contact with wood plants the seed of thought from which the sculpture will grow.
The material has an inner voice, a special vibration, through which it communicates with me. This incites me to reveal the beauty that sleeps hidden, to bring it to light.
I am sure that the pieces of stone and wood, full of the energy of the past life, will pass to a higher stage, will receive another life, in a refined form.
A large part of the exhibits are sculptures based on roots, whose natural characteristics I tried to preserve as much as possible. You can see the inclusions - stones - whose place I kept and redefined their image.

The exposure of the roots - hidden parts of nature, which lead their lives and destiny in the dark, which through their continuous struggle perfect the leaves and flowers - is practically a metaphor: this time he wants to put in the foreground the work behind each achievement, the toil of the back of the success, of the image.
Normally, no one can observe and evaluate the constant drama these roots face, the obstacles they have to overcome in order to evolve as babies of mother Earth, to survive and offer humanity the green miracle.
For the exhibited pieces, I mostly used wood, roots, but also metal and stone, the heart of a sculpture being made of Carrara marble. The sizes vary from small pieces, 50 cm high, to those over 2 m and 40-50 kg.
