Virginie Pflumio is an Alsatian artist who studied applied arts in Strasbourg, as well as holding a number of exhibitions in the region. She identifies herself as an “art-chemist”, taming mixtures of watercolors, acrylics, pastels and natural paints (created in the kitchen before arriving in her studio and developed according to personal processes). Virginie Pflumio pays homage to Mother Nature, in both her macroscopic and microscopic states. She seeks to bewitch and intrigue. She sometimes plays with the loss of reference points: the viewer no longer knows whether the work is taking him to the seabed, the woods or our galaxy. Winner of the Prix Théophile Schuler in Strasbourg (painting), she has won other awards, including 3rd Prize at the Aubusson Festival (painting) and a National Geographic Magazine Award (photography), as well as a number of articles in the local press.
