maqmanolo is an artist known for his expressive work on a wide range of surfaces: on canvases ready to be hung, by creating frescoes on interior walls but also outdoors, particularly on bulky items abandoned in the hope of making passers by smile. For this exhibition the artist is contributing a series of canvases ranging in size from 16x16" to 32x32" and painted in acrylic. His style "linear pop art", is instantly recognizable as a set of random lines that form faces, looks, shadows. He not only represents and discusses popular culture (film, celebrities, historical events) by his paintings, he also approaches more intimate perspectives, in particular with his portraits.
