Exhibition of contemporary jewellery created by Sébastien Carré, the french jewellery artist and curator based in Strasbourg. After graduating with a higher diploma in arts from the prestigious HEAR, Strasbourg's École supérieure des arts décoratifs, he went on to win numerous awards and distinctions. In 2015, he was one of the winners of the Prix de la jeune création métiers d'art by Ateliers d'Art de France, the Gioielli in fermento prize (Italian prize for contemporary jewellery) and a double prize at the Legacy Award organised by the Alliages gallery (Jury Prize + Public Prize). In 2016, he was also awarded the Prix pour les Arts de l'Académie Rhénane and came 2nd in the Enjoia't prize (contemporary jewellery prize in Barcelona). In 2020 and 2021 he was one of the finalists for the ‘Arte y Joya’ prize and was a finalist for the ‘Schmuck’ prize in Munich in 2021 and 2022. Since 2015 he has also curated exhibitions (‘Transmission’ in 2015 at studio 411 galerie - Montpellier - ‘Materio-Talk’ - in 2017 at Les Ateliers de Paris - in 2018 at the Institut français de Barcelone - in 2019 at the Institut français d' Athènes - “LIÉ.E.S” in 2019 at galerie Art Course - Strasbourg and at the Institut français de Barcelone). Sébastien Carré has had over 120 exhibitions in museums, galleries, schools and associations in Europe, the United States and Asia. His work can be found in public collections (Museum of Arts and Design of New-York / Museum Volkenkunde - National Museum of Ethnology in Leyden, Netherlands / Espace Solidor in Cagnes sur Mer in the Alliages Legacy Award Collection / Torre Fornello Collection, Italy) and in private collections in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, South Korea, Denmark, Spain, the United States, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and Romania. The works are made using crochet, needlework, weaving and macramé techniques, combining different fibres, pearls, semi-precious stones and other materials.
