Proposed exhibition Title : “This is the End” Artist: Jon Kraja , Albanian ( b. 1970) My Painting – My Perfume : my painting is an emotional load that pours over canvas, it’s a shiver frozen in time. My painting never ends as long as I’m alive. She is my life charged with meaning and misunderstanding, it is my unconscious that astonishes me with its instinct. She is my penance, she is the string that keeps tied my heaven and hell. It is love and not everyone can see it.” — Kraja
Descending from a family of artists and raised during the period of communist dictatorship in Albania, Jon Kraja has developed an original and personal style in visual arts and set design based on autodidactic research, going beyond conformity. He produces powerful and surprising paintings, graphics, installations and set designs. He is preoccupied with the unknown which drives him in the research of elements like air, sea, moon, plastic , universe , human being , combining life and death, shades and lights that illuminate unexplored spaces of creation. What strikes on his works is the deep exploration into the spirit of things, avoiding the effort to create artworks belonging to a particular trend. Description "This is the end" is a cycle of large format paintings , where emotions create fractures and a state of being not programmed, thought or projected before. The stream of colors follows their unconscious paths . The artist manages the process of mixing the colors , tracing their paths, slightly domesticating their wild trajectories, softly interacting with the canvas , creating these explosive images, fragile, unique and impossible to create twice.
