Why mosaics?

I have been passionately interested in art in all its forms since my teen years. But I was happy with being a mere spectator. I never felt the need to step through the looking glass, and the creative impulse remained a mystery to me. This is why I encouraged my children at a very young age to draw, paint, sculpt and visit workshops. One day my daughter wanted to try her hand at mosaics … I was the one who got hooked and I have an unending fascination with this technique. The beauty and variety of the materials used and the possibilities of combining them let the imagination run free. Sometimes, even everyday materials can inspire creation. This technique can also be used to transformanother artist’s painting by adding a dimension, thus making it my own. At first I was self-taught but I decided six years ago to begin serious training under the guidance of the artist-mosaicist Claire Guérin. Thanks to this professional and demanding teacher and inspired by her creative universe, I was able to progress and accept the eclectic nature of my artistic choices.

-2010: tied for second prize in the Championnet competition “Autour d’une couleur” (Deep Blue)

-2012 : winner of the Prize of the town of Brunoy for “Deep Blue” in the 22nd “Salon des peintres et sculpteurs” organised by the Lions Club

-2013: jury’s special prize for “Rencontre(s)” in the “Rencontres artistiques” of Villecresnes. Participation in the “Salon d’automne” inVillecresnes

-2012, 2014: selected to participate in the “Rencontres internationales de mosaïque”in Chartres”.

-2014, 2015: organised and ran a workshop on mosaics for adults and children at the “Rencontres artistiques” in Villecresnes

-2015: invited as an artist to the “Mosaïque et Art” exhibition in Coubert

-2016 : Display in the Championnet worshop in Paris, 18th arrondissement.

Size of works: similar to pictures on panels.

Ideal location: exhibits in the display cases of the Palais de l’Europe (facing the cafeteria).
