Civil airline flight simulation

Amicale du conseil de l'europe

The Amicale’s Video-Photo section is reviving one of its former activities – video gaming. This relaunch will be limited to the area of civil airline flight simulation.

Technical developments mean that network flight simulation can be enjoyed also by our colleagues stationed in local offices outside Strasbourg, giving them an almost unique opportunity to take part from afar in an Amicale activity.

Languages used in network flight simulation: English and French.

We have several flight simulators available, some which run only under Windows and some multi-platform (Windows, Macintosh, Linux).

To make it easier to exchange know-how and advice, we have chosen as our main simulator the multi-platform application XPlane. A demo version is available at http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/x-plane_10_demo/.

  • Do you want to discover the most realistic flight simulation experience?
  • Do you want to pilot a Cessna C172 or an AirBus 380? To understand flight terminology? To find out what is meant by IFR, VFR and Metar?
  • Are you already familiar with network flight simulation?
  • Do you want to help with presentation and instruction?

Find out more with our first video tutorials at http://viphoamic.free.fr/ (volunteers to translate them into English are very welcome!)

Contact: by e-mail to viphoamic@camephotoscope.org.

Depending on responses and interest in the project, we plan to organise an evening meeting to launch the activity.
