Relay for Life – Ligue contre le Cancer – Relais pour la Vie
Each year the Council of Europe assembles a team of volunteers to walk or run a 24 hour Relay in a host town in the Bas-Rhin chosen by the Ligue contre le Cancer. A team rota enables participants to choose their hourly slot(s) during the day or night.

The Council of Europe team participated in the 14th edition of the Relais pour la Vie du Bas-Rhin, on 29-30 June in Bischwiller, organised for the benefit of cancer sufferers in the host city and their families.
This event was for the whole family: many activities and entertainment were organized throughout the weekend.

In the framework of this challenge, EUR 3.466 was raised for Alsace contre le cancer.
The 48 runners ran an impressive total of 6.453,5 laps in 24 hours which is the equivalent of 2.581,4 km.
