The Japanese section of the amicale was delighted to be represented at this year’s “Summer in the city” art exhibition. The Finissage was attended by Ambassador UCHIDA Hiroyuki, Permanent Observer of Japan to the Council of Europe. His excellency was able to admire Japanese “sumi-e” ink paintings by our teacher Manda and her pupils Carole Herdly, Busra Byralki and Pascal Dourneau-Josette.

Visit of Strasbourg's church organs!

On Sunday 20th of July, the Japanese section of the Amicale organised a private visit of three of Strasbourg's church organs. The visit was guided by Japanese organist Sayaka Hayano who is the official organist of several churches in Strasbourg. Sayaka demonstrated the technical capacities and differences in tone and character of these incredible instruments. Congratulations to the three winners of the Amicale’s 2025 haiku competition! Our three winners received their prizes during a ceremony in the presence of Denis Huber, the Amicale’s President, and Ambassador UCHIDA Hiroyuki, Permanent Observer of Japan to the Council of Europe, and the Vice Consul, AOKI Miku.
