To mark the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe, and to symbolically restate their commitment to the Organisation and its values, staff members have decided to bike from Helsinki to Strasbourg. You are invited to join the ride! 

  • Departure from Helsinki at the close of the 129th Ministerial Session of the Committee of Ministers on 17 May 2019
  • The arrival is expected on 16 or 17 June in Strasbourg

The Film Club cordially invites you to the last screening of 2018 -  the critically acclaimed “Death and the Maiden” by Roman Polanski, which is based on a play by Ariel Dorfman.

It raises the questions: Can we have faith that our countries will uphold the rule of law, or are there situations when we must take justice into our own hands?

The screening will be followed by a discussion on Polanski escaping justice, and whether we can separate the art from the artist
