In the framework of the 29th Council of Europe's Congress Session and of the Dosta! prize, awarded to municipalities that show outstanding efforts in the inclusion of Roma and Travellers, the Alliance of Cities and Regions for Roma Inclusion has the honor to announce the projection of the film “Mémoires Tsiganes, l'autre Génocide”, on 22nd October at 12.30 pm in the screening room of the Palais de l’Europe. The screening will be followed by a debate with the co-director Idit Bloch.
Based upon valuables testimonies and rare archive footages, “Mémoires Tsiganes, l'autre Génocide » is the first documentary film which covers the genocide throughout Europe. It pursues recognition of the Roma’, to put an end to their status of forgotten victims of the Nazis. The historical aspect presented by co-director Henriette ASSEO, specialized on the history of Roma, sheds lights on the current situation of rejection and the political discrimination still suffered by Roma people.
