I started ceramic in Vienna over 10 years ago. When I returned to France, I joined a new atelier where I got acquainted with raku, a technical and artistic skill I kept using and developing to this day. I love the minute precision required when sculpting and glazing a piece. What a challenge it is to remove a piece from the kiln heated at over 1000°c, to make it swing with long pliers before laying it in sawdust and setting it on fire. I like to dip my hands (properly gloved !) in the flames and give the piece its final shape. After covering it hermetically and letting it smoulder for about twenty minutes comes the rewarding time of the sublime discovery.
I juggle my different lines of creation. Each « serie » rings a different bell in me. Through a " Fish telling a story " or " The world in action ", I let loose my imagination. Images from my childhood, from my travels, or the passions I have come up to the surface and give my stories a life of their own. These stories hover between fantasy and reality. I love to make the improbable happen, mixing elements which do not belong together.
