A match made in jewelry: two friends who share the same passion that of working with polymer dough to create jewellery of such brightness and joyfulness that you cannot fail to feel the pleasure and enjoyment Chantal and Véronique get from their creation. Indeed, having fun creating this jewellery is the very essence of this range, bright and with infinitely variable colours. Chantal’s inspiration comes simply from everything that catches her eye, whether in her garden in Provence, her close attention to observing light in all its forms, the journeys she makes or the fabrics and materials she encounters. By engaging fully in this process of creation, Chantal is regularly struck by how sensual the material and its effects can become.
Véronique, beyond her work with polymer dough, has also been seduced by working with leather. In this, she has been inspired in particular by its natural elegance and sensuality suggesting an air of mystery and refinement. Véronique and Chantal are two long term friends, both from the Region of Alsace originally and who both migrated southward – perhaps just like the famous storks from Alsace They both share the same passion for working with their hands to create objects of beauty. Perhaps their decision to merge their talents and go on a creative adventure together is linked to the fact that they have both recently turned 50, or perhaps it is simply the reflection of enthusiastic friends and acquaintances encouraging them to put their complementary talents together. Either way, their appetite for enjoying life, in all its colours is reflected in the originality of their work together.
The more they work together, the more they share their mutual knowledge, techniques, experiences and tips about working with the various materials and so their creations evolve and the more pleasure they get from the collaboration.
You will be seduced by the incredible array of colours on display in their jewellery and the way these colours are mixed boldly to stunning effect, creating little bouquets of delight and cheerfulness. They have chosen quality materials to make their collections and it is clear that the attention to the detail and to the finishing touches is second to none, making each creation truly unique. To wear them is therefore to feel unique and uniquely feminine.
For Chantal the artist – it begins first by making connections and imagining. This then has to become a reality, a tangible realization whether that be an object, a room, a painting. Throughout her life, wherever she has lived, in every house, flat or apartment, Chantal has created a workshop or studio where she can exercise her many manual skills and activities: silk painting, wrought-iron craft, silver jewellery, mosaics, pottery, ceramic and more. It has become much more than a hobby, it is a way of life which she has now chosen to dedicate the majority of her time to.
For Véronique the artist, it is more about bringing personal touches to the home and the home environment. She is passionate about painting on china or ceramics. She is an avid follower of and inspired by trends in fashion and loves to create connections by accessorizing her wardrobe with the leather jewellery she creates as well as other original accessories in fimo.
On show at this exhibition you will find more than 120 unique pieces made from polymer dough and leather; necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and broaches – by both creators are their for you to discover and enjoy.
